Your way to exploring more opportunities!

I have been working as a software QA engineer for more than 8 years now.  I read about a research study, a few years ago, which revealed that the clients are more eager to hire freelance specialists for their jobs. So I thought I would give it a try as a freelance job seeker and thankfully as a freelance QA engineer, I made a lot of income till now. Now that I am knocking at the door at Toptal, I think I have more to explore here. Before I signed up at Toptal, I had asked myself a few questions:- “Do I need to explore another freelance workplace, since some of the other workplaces already give me a lot of opportunities?” Later I could convince my conscience that Toptal is probably the one place where I should have arrived a few years ago. Here are a few reasons why I felt so:

• Screening Process:

Believe me,  there are a few workplaces where you can simply sign up and show case quite a lot of things on your profile (forget about they being accurate or not!). Some unfortunate clients may be allured into what you have posted on your profile and they may give you an offer. At the end of the schedule, the deliverables he set will never be met. The reason for this is he chose the wrong candidate and at the first instance, there has never been proper initial screening done by the workplace provider which made things even more tough for the Client. But at Toptal, qualified personnel interview you and find out how good you are to be here on this platform (forget about working for a Client!). So I take this as a challenge as this is something new to me. I need to impress you first to get to your platform before I get a chance to work with some of the precious Clients out here.

• Client Profiles:

Looking at the profiles of the clients showcased at Toptal any professionals will be wanting to show their skills and seek a chance to work for them. I tell you, to work for Pfizer or Airbnb is not a joke. That’s some serious opportunity that you may not even dream of if you work in some other workplaces.

• Support:

After I signed up I was trying to schedule a time for my screening process. There seemed to be some issue and I emailed the support team regarding this. I got prompt and quick reply from their support and communication specialists. If you give such premium support to someone like me who has just signed up I can only imagine how well you are supporting your ongoing freelance professionals and clients.

• Share knowledge:

Since I am a professional in QA engineer I seek to join  Toptal QA Engineers Network. If I go past the screening process I shall be joining some specialists who have working experience with Nasa, Google etc (as I got to know from TopTal Onboarding process page). That itself is a great honor and opportunity. Being able to share a workplace with such esteemed individuals and learning and sharing ideas with them will definitely be something that I will be cherishing through out my career.

•  Better late than never:

As I mentioned at the start of the post I feel that I am a bit late to arrive at this platform. But as optimists say, it’s better late than never. Looking around many blogs and websites I am clearly convinced that Toptal is the best opportunity that is wide open for any professional. It’s up to you to make the most of it!
